  • Where Does a Flower Store Food? Understanding the Ovary and Seeds
The part of the flower where food is stored as starch is the ovary.

    Here's why:

    * Ovary: The ovary is the swollen base of the pistil (female reproductive part of the flower). Inside the ovary are ovules, which develop into seeds.

    * Seeds: Seeds are the primary food storage structures for a plant. They contain starch, proteins, and fats to provide nourishment for the developing embryo.

    * Food production: The plant's leaves produce sugars through photosynthesis. These sugars are transported throughout the plant, including to the ovary, where they are converted into starch for storage within the developing seeds.

While other parts of the flower might contain some stored food, the ovary is the main location where food (in the form of starch) is stored for future use.
