  • Stomata: Understanding Plant Gas Exchange and Water Regulation
Stomata are small pores found in the leaves of plants. They allow for the exchange of gases, such as carbon dioxide and oxygen, between the plant and the atmosphere. Stomata also play a role in the regulation of water loss from the plant. When the plant is under water stress, the stomata close to reduce water loss.
