  • Plasma Membrane Structure: Understanding Cell Boundaries
The plasma membrane of a cell does not compare with a U-shape. The plasma membrane is a thin layer that surrounds the cell and controls what enters and exits the cell. It is composed of a phospholipid bilayer with embedded proteins. A U-shape is a geometrical shape that consists of two straight lines of equal length joined by a semicircle.
