  • Testosterone Production: Where & How It Happens
The main male hormone, testosterone, is primarily produced in the testes, which are the male reproductive organs located in the scrotum. The production of testosterone is regulated by the hypothalamus and pituitary gland in the brain. The testes produce testosterone in response to signals from these brain structures. In addition to the testes, small amounts of testosterone can also be produced in the adrenal glands, which are located on top of the kidneys.
