  • rRNA vs. DNA: Understanding Cellular Replication & Gene Expression
    Ribosomes require a lot of rRNA compared to DNA.

    - Each ribosome contains multiple copies of rRNA molecules complexed with proteins to form the two subunits of the ribosomes.

    - In contrast, DNA serves as a genetic blueprint to direct the synthesis of various RNA molecules, proteins and other cellular components. Each cell has a single copy of the DNA molecule (in bacteria) or multiple copies (in eukaryotes) that contains all the genetic information necessary to direct cellular activities.
