A karyotype is the complete set of chromosomes of an organism displayed in a standardized format which provide a microscopic visual display as they align in pairs during metaphase stage pf mitosis or meiosis cell division.. They are prepared to examine the number, and any morphological changes in the structure, banding patterns or presence of any chromosomal rearrangement . The technique of visualization or display to make a microscopic picture is known as Karyotyping or Chromosomal analysis
