It is difficult if not impossible to weigh a live dinosaur since none are known to be living today. However, it is possible to estimate the weight of extinct dinosaurs by using various methods, such as studying their fossilized bones, comparing them to similar living animals and mathematical modelling. Paleontologists use methods such as the volumetric approach and allometric formulas to estimate the mass of dinosaurs based on the measurements of their skeletal features.
