    While many fish are indeed bilaterally symmetrical, there are a number of species and individuals within those species which do not possess this trait perfectly if that all. This isn't to indicate an absence of organization below the superficial. Most of nature follows patterns and these deviations only confirm to the rule to be more than merely superficial skin.
