  • Non-Luminous Light Sources: Examples & Explanations
Here are some examples of non-luminous light sources, along with explanations:

    Non-Luminous Objects Reflecting Light:

    * The Moon: The Moon itself doesn't produce light. It shines because its surface reflects sunlight.

    * Planets: Similar to the Moon, planets like Mars, Venus, and Jupiter reflect sunlight.

    * Mirrors: Mirrors reflect light from their surroundings.

    * White Paper: Paper appears white because it reflects all colors of visible light.

    * Clothing: Most clothing reflects light. Different colors absorb and reflect different wavelengths of light, giving them their color.

Objects Emitting Light by Scattering or Diffusing:

    * Clouds: Clouds scatter sunlight, which is why we see them.

    * Smoke: Smoke particles scatter light.

    * Fog: Fog is a dense collection of water droplets that scatter light.

    * Dust: Dust particles in the air can scatter light.

    Important Note:

While these objects are not producing light themselves, they are still essential for us to see them. Without light sources, we would not be able to perceive these objects.
