  • Sunlight Wavelengths: Understanding Short & Long Wavelengths
The Sun gives off a wide range of wavelengths, but its peak emission is in the visible light range, which is considered short wavelength compared to, for example, radio waves.

    Here's a breakdown:

    * Short wavelengths: Gamma rays, X-rays, ultraviolet (UV) light.

    * Medium wavelengths: Visible light (including all the colors of the rainbow)

    * Long wavelengths: Infrared (IR) radiation, microwaves, radio waves.

The Sun emits all of these wavelengths, but its peak emission is in the visible light range. This is why we see the Sun as yellow-white.

However, it's important to note that the Sun also emits significant amounts of ultraviolet radiation and infrared radiation. These are invisible to our eyes but have important effects on Earth.
