There are two equinoxes each year:
* Vernal (Spring) Equinox: Around March 20th or 21st
* Autumnal (Fall) Equinox: Around September 22nd or 23rd
At the equinoxes, the Earth's axis is tilted neither towards nor away from the Sun. This means the Sun shines directly on the equator, resulting in roughly equal day and night lengths across the globe.
