  • Why Astronauts Can't Land on the Sun: A Scientific Explanation
It's impossible for astronauts to land on the sun!

    Here's why:

    * The sun is a giant ball of burning gas: It's not a solid surface like Earth.

    * The sun is incredibly hot: The surface of the sun is about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit (5,500 degrees Celsius)! No spacecraft or human could survive those temperatures.

    * The sun's gravity is immense: It would be nearly impossible to escape the sun's gravitational pull if you got too close.

So, while we dream of exploring space, landing on the sun is something that will never happen.
