  • Venus: The Planet with the Slowest Rotation and Longest Days
The planet with the longest day and night is Venus.

    Here's why:

    * Venus rotates extremely slowly. It takes about 243 Earth days for Venus to complete one rotation on its axis.

    * Venus's rotation is retrograde. This means it spins in the opposite direction from most other planets in the solar system, including Earth.

Therefore, a day on Venus (the time it takes for the sun to appear in the same position in the sky) is actually longer than its year (the time it takes to orbit the sun)!
