  • Discover the Brightest Stars in the Constellation Pegasus
Pegasus, the winged horse, is a prominent constellation in the northern hemisphere. While it doesn't have a single, blazingly bright star like Sirius or Vega, it's known for its distinctive "Great Square" asterism, formed by four prominent stars:

    * Alpheratz (α Pegasi): This star is actually part of the neighboring constellation Andromeda. It's a blue-white giant, the brightest star in Pegasus.

    * Scheat (β Pegasi): A red giant star, Scheat is the second-brightest star in Pegasus.

    * Markab (α Pegasi): A blue-white giant, Markab marks one of the corners of the Great Square.

    * Algenib (γ Pegasi): This bluish-white giant completes the Great Square.

While these are the most notable stars in Pegasus, others like Enif (ε Pegasi), a bright orange giant, and Homam (ζ Pegasi), a white giant, also contribute to the constellation's visibility.
