  • The Sun's Size: Understanding Its Place in the Universe
Our Sun is a medium-sized star.

    Here's why:

    * Smaller than: There are many stars out there that are much larger than our Sun, called giants and supergiants.

    * Larger than: There are also many smaller stars, called red dwarfs, which are significantly smaller than our Sun.

So, while our Sun might seem huge to us, it's actually just an average-sized star in the grand scheme of the universe.
