  • Yellow Stars: Understanding Color & Temperature (5000-6000K)
A star with a surface temperature of 5000-6000K will be yellow.

    Here's why:

    * Star Color and Temperature: The color of a star is directly related to its surface temperature.

    * Wien's Displacement Law: This law states that the peak wavelength of radiation emitted by a blackbody (like a star) is inversely proportional to its temperature.

    * Yellow Stars: Stars with surface temperatures in the 5000-6000K range emit most of their light in the yellow part of the visible spectrum.

Our own sun is a great example! It has a surface temperature of around 5,500K and appears yellow to us.
