  • Understanding the Moon's Nighttime Visibility: How and Why
The moon is in the sky during the night.

It might seem like a silly answer, but it's important to remember that the moon doesn't have its own light. We see the moon because it reflects sunlight.

So, even though the sun is on the other side of the Earth during the night, the moon is still illuminated by its light and visible to us in the sky.

However, the position of the moon in the sky changes throughout the night and throughout the month due to its orbit around the Earth.
