  • Sun vs. Mars: Understanding Gravitational Forces
The Sun's gravitational force is much stronger than Mars's. Here's why:

    * Mass: The Sun is significantly more massive than Mars. The Sun's mass is about 333,000 times greater than Earth's, while Mars is only about 10% the mass of Earth.

    * Gravity and Mass: The strength of gravity is directly proportional to mass. The more massive an object, the stronger its gravitational pull.

Think of it this way: The Sun's gravity holds all the planets in our solar system in orbit around it. Mars's gravity is much weaker and only holds its own moons in orbit.
