    * Our eyes see scattered light: This scattered blue light reaches our eyes from all directions, making the sky appear blue.

    Why the sky is red at sunset:

    * Longer path through atmosphere: At sunset, sunlight has to travel through a much thicker layer of atmosphere to reach us. This longer path means more scattering.

    * Blue light scattered away: The blue light gets scattered away more effectively, leaving behind the longer wavelengths of red and orange.

    * Dust and particles: The presence of dust particles and water droplets in the lower atmosphere can also contribute to the red hues at sunset. These particles scatter red light even more effectively.
