    Jupiter is not a fixed distance from Earth because both planets are constantly moving. However, the average distance between Earth and Jupiter is about 5.2 astronomical units (AU).

    Therefore, the average distance between Earth and Jupiter in light years is:

    This is a very small distance in astronomical terms, but it still takes light about 43 minutes to travel from Jupiter to Earth!
