  • Orion's Belt Color: What Do the Stars Really Look Like?
    Orion's belt is not a single color, but rather appears white to the naked eye.

    However, the three stars that make up Orion's belt (Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka) are actually different colors when observed through a telescope:

    * Alnitak (Zeta Orionis): Blue-white

    * Alnilam (Epsilon Orionis): Blue-white

    * Mintaka (Delta Orionis): Blue-white

    The stars appear white to our naked eye because our eyes aren't sensitive enough to pick up the subtle color differences, especially in the night sky.
