The Polish astronomer who theorized that the Earth revolved around the Sun was Nicolaus Copernicus.

He published his groundbreaking heliocentric model of the universe in his book "De Revolutionibus Orbium Coelestium" (On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres) in 1543, just before his death.
