    No, the Sun is not a big ball of lava. While it's true the Sun is incredibly hot, it's not made of molten rock like lava. Here's why:

    * Temperature and State of Matter: The Sun's core is incredibly hot, reaching millions of degrees Celsius. This heat is so intense that the hydrogen and helium are in a plasma state, which is a superheated, ionized gas. Lava, while hot, is still in a liquid state.
