  • Understanding Star Colors: What Does Yellow Mean?
    Medium temperature stars are yellow.

    Here's why:

    * Temperature and Color: A star's color is directly related to its surface temperature.

    * Hotter Stars: Hotter stars emit more blue and white light, which is why they appear blue or white.

    * Cooler Stars: Cooler stars emit more red and orange light, which is why they appear red or orange.

    * Medium Temperature Stars: Medium temperature stars fall in the middle, emitting more yellow light. Our Sun is a good example of a medium temperature, yellow star.
