  • Sun's Rotation: Understanding Solar 'Years' in Earth Days
    It's not possible to define a "year" on the Sun in Earth days in the same way we define it for Earth. Here's why:

    * The Sun doesn't orbit anything: Earth has a year because it orbits the Sun. The Sun itself doesn't orbit anything.

    * Rotation Period: The Sun does rotate on its axis, and this rotation takes about 25 Earth days at the equator and about 36 Earth days at the poles. This rotation isn't comparable to a year.

    So, there is no "year" on the Sun in Earth days.
