  • Jupiter Missions: A History of Spacecraft Explorations
There have been 8 spacecraft that have visited Jupiter, either flying by or orbiting the planet.

Here's a list of the missions:

    * Pioneer 10 (1973) - First spacecraft to fly by Jupiter.

    * Pioneer 11 (1974) - Second spacecraft to fly by Jupiter, also flew by Saturn.

    * Voyager 1 (1979) - Flew by Jupiter and continued on to explore the outer solar system.

    * Voyager 2 (1979) - Flew by Jupiter and continued on to explore the outer solar system.

    * Ulysses (1992) - Flew by Jupiter to get a gravity assist to reach the poles of the Sun.

    * Galileo (1995-2003) - Orbited Jupiter for eight years and sent a probe into the atmosphere.

    * Cassini (2000) - Flew by Jupiter on its way to Saturn.

    * Juno (2016-present) - Currently orbiting Jupiter and studying its atmosphere and magnetic field.

There are a few other spacecraft that may be considered "Jupiter probes," such as the New Horizons mission, which used a Jupiter flyby to gain speed on its way to Pluto. However, these missions were not primarily focused on studying Jupiter.
