  • Venus: The Solar System's Slowest Rotation - Why Its Days Are So Long
The planet with the longest day and night is Venus.

    Here's why:

    * Venus rotates incredibly slowly: A single day on Venus (the time it takes to complete one rotation) is about 243 Earth days. This is longer than its orbital period (the time it takes to orbit the sun), which is 225 Earth days.

    * Retrograde rotation: Venus also rotates in the opposite direction of most other planets in our solar system (retrograde rotation). This means the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.

So, while a day on Venus is extremely long, it's worth noting that the time between sunrise and sunset is actually shorter than a Venusian day due to its slow rotation.
