Here's why we can't give you a precise answer in astronomical units (AU):
* AU is a measure within our solar system. One AU is the average distance between the Earth and the Sun.
* Betelgeuse is outside our solar system. It's a star in the constellation Orion.
To convert light-years to AU, you'd need to know the exact distance to Betelgeuse. However, even with precise measurements, the distances involved are so vast that expressing them in AU would be an incredibly large and impractical number.
Instead, we use light-years for interstellar distances. A light-year is the distance light travels in one year.
