  • Meteoroid Distances: Understanding Their Orbits and Origins
It's tricky to give a single distance for meteoroids from the Sun because they come from all over the solar system! Here's a breakdown:

    * Meteoroids are small pieces of rock or metal. They can be as small as a grain of sand or as large as a boulder.

    * They orbit the Sun, just like planets and comets.

    * Their orbits can vary greatly, meaning their distance from the Sun changes constantly.

    * Some meteoroids come from the asteroid belt, which lies between Mars and Jupiter.

    * Others come from comets, which can have very elongated orbits that take them far beyond Pluto.

    * Some meteoroids are even thought to come from outside our solar system!

So, while we can't say a meteoroid is always a specific distance from the Sun, we know they travel through our solar system and can come from various locations within it.
