  • Barycenter: Where Earth and Moon Orbit - Explained
The point that Earth and Moon revolve around is called the barycenter.

    Here's why:

    * Not a single point: It's not a fixed point in space. Instead, it's a point that changes slightly over time.

    * Center of mass: The barycenter is the center of mass of the Earth-Moon system. It's the point where the two bodies balance each other out gravitationally.

    * Slightly offset: Because Earth is much more massive than the Moon, the barycenter is located inside Earth, about 1700 kilometers below the surface.

So, while it's not a fixed point like the Sun, the barycenter is the point both Earth and Moon orbit around.
