  • Aristarchus of Samos: The Pioneer of Heliocentrism
The Greek scientist who first put forth a heliocentric view of the universe was Aristarchus of Samos.

While his ideas were not widely accepted in his time, he proposed that the Earth revolved around the Sun, a revolutionary concept for his era. His work was unfortunately largely lost, but his ideas influenced later astronomers like Copernicus who ultimately revived the heliocentric model.
