  • Sun's Composition: What Gases Does the Sun Primarily Contain?
    The Sun is primarily made up of two gases:

    * Hydrogen (H): About 70.6% of the Sun's mass is hydrogen.

    * Helium (He): About 27.4% of the Sun's mass is helium.

    These elements make up the vast majority of the Sun's composition. The remaining 2% is made up of trace amounts of heavier elements like carbon, oxygen, neon, and iron.
