  • Sun's Age: Understanding the Sun's 4.6 Billion-Year History
The concept of "cosmic years" isn't a standard unit of measurement in astronomy.

Here's what we know about the Sun's age:

    * The Sun is about 4.603 billion years old. This is based on radiometric dating of meteorites and other Solar System objects.

    * Astronomers use years as a unit of time for stellar evolution.

So, while we don't talk about the Sun's age in "cosmic years," we know it's roughly 4.6 billion years old.
