Here's why:
* Earth's Rotation: The Earth rotates on its axis from west to east. This means that as we look up at the sky, the stars appear to move from east to west.
* Perspective: Because of Earth's rotation, the stars in the Northern Hemisphere appear to circle around Polaris, the North Star. Ursa Major is located relatively close to Polaris, so its stars also appear to move in a counterclockwise circle around it.
Important Note: The stars themselves are not actually moving in a circle. It's our perspective from Earth's rotation that makes them appear to do so.
