* Abundance: Red dwarfs make up about 85% of the stars in the Milky Way Galaxy and are estimated to be even more common in other galaxies.
* Low Mass: They are much smaller and less massive than our Sun, typically having only 8% to 50% of the Sun's mass.
* Long Lifespans: Because they burn their fuel very slowly, red dwarfs have incredibly long lifespans, lasting trillions of years. This is significantly longer than the Sun's estimated lifespan of around 10 billion years.
While we don't see them as brightly as larger, hotter stars, red dwarfs are the most prevalent stellar population in our galaxy.
