  • Dark Nebulae: Understanding Light-Blocking Cosmic Clouds
The type of nebulae formation that produces no light is a dark nebula.

    Here's why:

    * Dark nebulae are clouds of gas and dust that are so dense they block light from stars behind them. They don't emit their own light, making them appear as dark patches against the starry background.

    * Emission nebulae, on the other hand, emit light because the hydrogen gas within them is energized by nearby stars, causing it to glow.

    * Reflection nebulae reflect light from nearby stars, scattering it and making them appear bluish.

So, while the other types of nebulae are visible due to their light emission or reflection, dark nebulae are only noticeable because they obscure the light behind them.
