  • Earth's Orbit: Understanding Why the Earth Revolves Around the Sun
The Sun does not revolve around the Earth. It's the other way around!

The Earth revolves around the Sun. This is due to the Sun's immense gravitational pull, which keeps the Earth in orbit.

The idea of the Sun revolving around the Earth was the prevailing theory for many centuries (geocentric model). However, this was proven wrong by Nicolaus Copernicus and later supported by observations made by Galileo Galilei through his telescope.

The heliocentric model (Sun at the center) is now the accepted model in astronomy.
