This is a tricky question because the number is constantly changing! As of today, over 5,000 exoplanets (planets orbiting other stars) have been confirmed by astronomers.

However, this number is a snapshot in time. New exoplanets are discovered all the time, so the count is always increasing. There are also likely many more exoplanets out there that we haven't detected yet!
