  • Identifying the Brightest Object in the Night Sky: Moon, Sun & Stars
The brightest thing in the night sky depends on what you're considering:

For most people, the answer is the Moon**. It reflects sunlight and often outshines all the stars.

However, if we're talking about naturally occurring objects, the answer is the Sun**. While we can't see the sun at night, it's technically the brightest object in the night sky, even though it's not visible.

If we're looking at stars, then the brightest star is Sirius**. It's a binary star system, but the brightest star is Sirius A, which is about 25 times brighter than our Sun.

Finally, if we're including human-made objects, then the International Space Station** can be incredibly bright, especially when it passes overhead.

So, the answer really depends on how you define "brightest" and what you're including!
