* Polaris (Alpha Ursae Minoris): This is the North Star, and the brightest star in the Little Dipper. It marks the end of the handle.
* Kochab (Beta Ursae Minoris): The second brightest star, it's located at the end of the bowl opposite Polaris.
* Pherkad (Gamma Ursae Minoris): This star is part of the bowl, close to Kochab.
* δ Ursae Minoris: This star is also part of the bowl, between Pherkad and Polaris.
* ε Ursae Minoris: This star is on the handle, closer to Polaris.
* ζ Ursae Minoris: This star is on the handle, closer to Kochab.
* η Ursae Minoris: This faint star is the last one on the handle, away from Polaris.
The Little Dipper is a smaller and fainter version of the Big Dipper. If you find the Big Dipper, imagine extending the two stars at the end of its bowl (the "pointers") upwards. Polaris, the North Star, is the star at the end of that imaginary line and the start of the Little Dipper's handle.
