Alcyone: The Brightest Star in the Pleiades Cluster - Facts & Information
The brightest star in the Pleiades star cluster is Alcyone, also known as η Tauri.
It's a blue-white giant star, around 7 times the mass of our Sun and about 400 times brighter. It's also the star around which the whole cluster is gravitationally bound.
