  • Microscope Light Source: Types & How They Work
The part of the microscope that produces light is the light source. This can be:

    * Built-in LED: Most modern microscopes have a built-in LED that provides a focused, bright light.

    * Halogen bulb: Older microscopes may use a halogen bulb, which generates heat and requires more power.

    * External light source: Some microscopes can be used with an external light source, like a fiber optic illuminator.

The light source is typically located at the base of the microscope and is directed towards the specimen through a condenser lens.
