    The atmosphere of Venus is primarily composed of:

    * Carbon Dioxide (CO2): This makes up a whopping 96.5% of the atmosphere, creating a dense and suffocating environment.

    * Nitrogen (N2): The second most abundant gas, comprising 3.5% of the atmosphere.

    There are trace amounts of other gases as well, including:

    * Sulphur Dioxide (SO2): A significant component of the Venusian clouds, contributing to the planet's extreme greenhouse effect.

    * Argon (Ar): A minor constituent, along with other inert gases.

    * Carbon Monoxide (CO): Found in trace amounts, likely a product of volcanic activity.

    * Water Vapor (H2O): Exists in extremely small quantities due to the planet's high temperature and pressure.

    It's important to note that the atmosphere of Venus is incredibly dense and hot, making it a very inhospitable place for life as we know it. The extreme greenhouse effect caused by the thick carbon dioxide layer traps heat and raises surface temperatures to over 460°C (860°F).
