  • New Horizons: Exploring Pluto and the Kuiper Belt
The only spacecraft that has ever visited Pluto is New Horizons. It flew by Pluto in July 2015, providing us with the first close-up images and data about the dwarf planet.

While New Horizons is no longer orbiting Pluto, it is still traveling through the Kuiper Belt, a region of icy bodies beyond Neptune. It is expected to continue sending back data for many years to come.

There are no other satellites currently orbiting or near Pluto.
