There was a debate for a while about Pluto being the ninth planet, but in 2006, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) reclassified Pluto as a dwarf planet because it did not meet all the criteria for a full-fledged planet.
So, Neptune remains the eighth planet from the sun, and there is no ninth planet in our solar system currently.
