  • Marie Curie & X-rays: Understanding the Discovery and Her Contributions
Marie Curie did not invent the X-ray. Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered X-rays in 1895.

Marie Curie's primary contributions were in the field of radioactivity, which is a different phenomenon than X-rays. She and her husband Pierre Curie studied radioactive elements like polonium and radium, and her work led to the development of radiotherapy, a treatment for cancer that uses radioactive materials.
