Inner planets:
- Mercury: Approximately 57.9 million kilometers (36 million miles) from the Sun.
- Venus: Approximately 108.2 million kilometers (67.2 million miles) from the Sun.
- Earth: Approximately 149.6 million kilometers (93 million miles) from the Sun.
- Mars: Approximately 227.9 million kilometers (141.6 million miles) from the Sun.
Outer planets:
- Jupiter: Approximately 778.5 million kilometers (483.7 million miles) from the Sun.
- Saturn: Approximately 1.43 billion kilometers (888.4 million miles) from the Sun.
- Uranus: Approximately 2.87 billion kilometers (1.78 billion miles) from the Sun.
- Neptune: Approximately 4.5 billion kilometers (2.8 billion miles) from the Sun.
Comparison:
As you can see, the outer planets are much farther from the Sun compared to the inner planets. The distance between the Sun and Neptune (the outermost planet) is about 30 times greater than the distance between the Sun and Earth. Additionally, the distances between the outer planets themselves are much larger compared to the distances between the inner planets. For example, the distance between Saturn and Uranus is almost twice the distance between Earth and Mars.
