  • Open Universe Explained: Expansion, Geometry & Fate
In physics, an open universe is a model of the universe in which the spatial curvature is negative. This means that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate, and will continue to do so indefinitely. In an open universe, the total amount of matter and energy in the universe is not enough to stop the expansion.
