  • Eratosthenes: The Greek Scientist Who Calculated Earth's Circumference
Eratosthenes of Cyrene (c. 276 – c. 195 BCE) was a Greek polymath: a mathematician, astronomer, geographer, poet, astronomer, and music theorist. He was a man of learning, becoming the chief librarian at the Library of Alexandria.
