  • Milky Way's Supermassive Black Hole Sagittarius A*: Ready for Activity?
Observations from radio telescopes detail the feeding patterns of the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way, Sagittarius A*. New data from the MeerKAT telescope reveals that the black hole is currently dormant and under-fed, with large amounts of cold gas surrounding it. However, the area can experience outbursts or periods of rapid growth, as seen in other nearby galaxies.
